Having lived in England for several years, Uma has broadened her legal knowledge and skill by gaining experience as a Trainee Generalist Adviser and later Generalist adviser at Citizen Advice, as a Legal Triage at North Kensington Law Centre and as a representative at Free Representation Unit (FRU). Through these roles, Uma has gained valuable insight into the challenges facing individuals needing legal assistance.

Uma completed her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the University of Colombo and her Master of Laws in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution at London South Bank University, where she earned her degree with merit. Uma's LL.M. research focused on access to justice and legal aid for private-rented tenants in England.
